Buccament Bay Launch Event - Wembley, 24th & 25th April 2010

We are delighted to announce that we will be hosting an open weekend at Wembley Stadium on 24th & 25th April 2010 to celebrate the opening of our first resort in the Caribbean, Buccament Bay Resort in St Vincent & The Grenadines, in July 2010. This will be an opportunity for you to meet the team behind the opening of the most exciting new resort in the Caribbean.

The Rt Hon Ralph Gonsalves, Prime Minister of St Vincent & The Grenadines, will be present on both days to talk about this wonderful island and the Government’s support for our stunning new resort. He will be accompanied by several Government Ministers and the Caribbean High Commissioners for St Vincent & The Grenadines, Barbados and St Lucia, the islands where we will be opening our other resorts during the next few years.

ESPA to design and operate Harlequin’s spas

On 4th November 2009 Harlequin Hotels & Resorts signed a contract with leading international spa brand, ESPA, for them to design and operate the spas in each of its resorts.

ESPA’s team will work with Harlequin to create a unique spa concept and menu of treatments that will be perfectly suited to the resorts.World renowned architects and designers will design the spa environment and ESPA’s expert team will design and conduct training programmes for the spa staff and ensure that the spa is operated to their 5 star quality standards ongoing. The first spa will be created at Buccament Bay.

ESPA has created award-winning spas in some of the world’s most luxurious resorts – The Ritz Carlton in Moscow, Ireland & Tokyo, BVLGARI Hotel & Spa, One & Only Reethi Raj in the Maldives, The Gleneagles Hotel in Scotland, The Peninsula in Tokyo, Mandarin Oriental in London. Harlequin Hotels & Resorts exhibits at the World Travel Market 2009

Harlequin Hotels & Resorts have truly established themselves as a major contender in the luxury 5 star hotel arena by exhibiting at the annual World Travel Market at ExCel in London Docklands in November. This premier event is held for the travel industry and almost 50,000 visitors attended. All of the key top team were there including Dave Ames, Joerg Roterberg (Vice President of Operations), Garrett Ronan (Vice President, Food & Beverage) and Simon Taylor to meet with key representatives from major airlines such as British Airways, Virgin Atlantic and Monarch, along with a selection of market and world leading tour operators and agents including Tui & Expedia.

Garrett Ronan joins Harlequin Hotels & Resorts!

Garrett Ronan has been appointed as the Vice President, Food & Beverages for Harlequin Hotels & Resorts and will start his new role on 1st October 2009.

He will be responsible for the implementation and ongoing operation of all the restaurants and bars at Buccament Bay.

Garrett has 22 years experience in the hospitality and catering industry, and his most recent position was as Director of Food & Beverage at The Beverley Hilton in Beverley Hills, California. Prior to that he held similar positions at The Boston Harbor Hotel in Boston, Massachusetts and The Waldorf Astoria & Waldorf Towers, New York.

His strong leadership, strategic planning skills, passion and energy are exactly what Harlequin Hotels & Resorts needs to ensure that Buccament Bay and all its restaurants and bars earn it the reputation it deserves as a 5 star resort.

 

Joerg Roterberg joins Harlequin Hotels & Resorts

Joerg Roterberg is Harlequin Hotels & Resorts’ new Vice President of Operations and will be in post from 10th October 2009.

His role will be to ensure that Buccament Bay is established as a truly unique brand and service experience and operated to the 5 star standards required by Harlequin Hotels & Resorts. He will be working closely with Oasis Hotels & Resorts to set up the systems, processes and procedures for the resort and the day-to-day operations.

Joerg has spent several years managing 5 star hotels in the Caribbean, including the prestigious Galley Bay Hotel in Antigua, Peter Island Resort in the British Virgin Islands and St James Club Morgan Bay in St Lucia. Most recently Joerg has been manager of the One & Only Le Touessrok in Mauritius, one of the most glamorous and recognised hotels in the world, steering it through re-branding and improving operations for it to achieve its ISO 22000 and ISO 9001 2005 certification. In 2007 it received an award for the highest number of guests and staff satisfaction
